Searching for CAS training? Then you've come to the right place!
ABTrainingCenter.com offers CAS training and certification courses for those individuals interested in earning the prestigious Certified Annuity Specialist designation.
The Certified Annuity Specialist (CAS) designation demonstrates the advisor’s expertise and commitment to helping individuals work towards their retirement goals with annuities as a suitable option. The Certified Annuity Specialist (CAS) covers all of the traditional aspects of fixed-rate and variable products; a detailed part of the materials also covers the different titling options and the estate and income tax ramifications of each.
This program will open your eyes to a number of products/riders that you never thought existed. Your clients will appreciate the special knowledge and insight you bring to the table as a CAS.
CAS is fully accredited and is the oldest designation in the annuity industry. It is the only such designation recognized by dozens of Fortune 500 companies.
Curriculum
This accredited program is a 60-hour self-study program administered over six modules.
Students are given 12 months to complete the program, but the vast majority of the enrollees complete the materials within a couple of months. There are four requirements for certification:
Pass three exams; each one covers two of the six modules (students can receive a three month-extension for $40)
Complete one open-book case study (a one page set of facts based on a hypothetical client)
Fill out a registration form and complete a student questionnaire, and
Sign a code of ethics
Examination Requirements
Each exam is a 90 minute, 75-question, computer-administered exam - a passing score of 70% is required for each exam. Exams can only be taken sequentially, and the student needs to be notified of a passing grade before sitting for the next exam.
Candidates may schedule each exam at their convenience when prepared, and the exam may be conducted in one of two formats, as such:
In your office with a proctor (disinterested third party). The exam will be faxed to your office; the completed exam must be faxed back for grading. No testing fee applies.
At a local Prometric testing center, with your results provided immediately upon the completion of your exam. There is no additional exam fee; it is included in the cost of your course tuition.
Additional Requirements
There are no pre-requisites for candidates who seek to attain this designation.
Continuing Education Requirements
Designees must complete 15 hours of continuing education, reported once every year. Designees have a wide range of topics and methods to choose from (e.g., attending seminars, reading books, completing other courses, teaching, writing articles, etc.). Also, each year designees must remit an annual renewal fee.
