The 401k Service Training Program™ teaches professionals six steps critical to managing a successful and compliant employer-sponsored plan and culminates in the Professional Plan Consultant™ (PPC™) designation.
The 401k Service Training Program is the only course that sets service standards in the retirement plan industry and imparts professionals not only with the knowledge, but the tools needed to meet (and exceed) those standards.

Tools Exclusively for PPC Designees Graduates of the 401k Service Training™ Program who receive the PPC™ (Professional Plan Consultant™) designation are provided with exclusive access (optional subscription) to a set of tools called The 401k Service Solution™ (applicable to all types of ERISA plans - not just 401k's).
The 401k Service Solution™ is a six-step process covering all of the key plan management areas taught in class, and providing you with education material, worksheets, templates, and marketing support (200 pieces of literature in all) to help make meeting and exceeding the new standards simple.
This program is available online or through two-days of classroom training. Our classroom program offers the advantages of peer interaction, idea sharing, live question periods, and hands-on role play in an environment that helps you instantly apply the education gained in the training.
Features of the Classroom 401k Service Training Program- Two full days (16-hours) of high-level training taught by practicing investment consultants with more than 35 years of combined experience.
- Curriculum focused on six key plan management steps based on ERISA legislation and industry best practices. This is the core of the program and the foundation on which the 401k Service Solution tools are based.

- Identifying and understanding fiduciaries roles and responsibilities
- Plan investment selection and monitoring criteria
- Plan provider selection and monitoring criteria
- Understanding and documenting plan expenses and conducting benchmarking reports
- Investment committee formation, responsibilities, and documentation practices
- Implementing a solid plan management process for ongoing compliance
- Participant communication guidelines including ERISA section 404(c)
- Participant education options and resources - building an effective program
- Current legislation and the plan sponsor's role in staying compliant
- Accessing and Implementing a Fiduciary Risk Management Process
- Identifying industry resources that help fiduciaries understand and meet their responsibilities

About Your Instructors Donald J. Settina, CFP®, AIFA®, PPC™, and Sharon A. Pivirotto, PPC™, AIF®, are experienced investment professionals, teachers, entrepreneurs, and visionaries.
Don Settina Don is an industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience in the financial planning arena and retirement plan market. He is the founding partner of FSS and is the principal of a top-producing financial planning practice in Pittsburgh. Don is the author of The 401k Service Solution™ Handbook for Plan Sponsors and Fiduciaries and teaches The 401k Service Training Program™.
Sharon Pivirotto Sharon is the co-founder of FSS and has more than 10 years of financial industry experience. Formerly licensed as a securities and insurance professional, she successfully ran an investment office for a national firm. Sharon started her own company in 2002 and teamed up with Don in 2005 to formalize and teach The 401k Service Training Program. Sharon is the author of The Critics Guide to Winning the Investment Game and is the driving force behind the development of the solutions created at FSS.
Course Accreditation The 401k Service Training Program is accredited by Robert Morris University, The School of Adult and Continuing Education, Pittsburgh, PA.
Course Prerequisites Applicants must have at least three (3) years' experience in the financial services industry.
