Fixed Annuity Sales Decrease in 2006

In the final quarter of 2006, total sales of fixed annuities decreased to approximately $16.5 billion in the U.S., a reduction of 1.1 percent from the same period in the previous year.

When comparing the entire year, sales of fixed annuities fell 3.3 percent for a total of $71 billion throughout the U.S., according to a recent survey conducted by Illinois-based Beacon Research.
