Property And Casualty Prelicense Requirements For Minnesota Resident Agents

Many states require that you complete a prelicensing course before allowing you to take the state licensing exam. Minnesota is among them. You will need to take an approved course equivalent to 20 hours of study for each line you want to take, so for both property and casualty, you will need to put in 40 hours. Minnesota Property And Casualty Exam Requirements

When you complete your prelicensing, you will have to take an approved prelicensing certification exam. If you score 70 percent or higher, you will receive a certificate of completion that you will need to bring to the testing center on your scheduled exam day. You can set your exam time by contacting Pearson VUE. An examination fee will be required. You will also need to provide fingerprints. The Minnesota Department of Insurance can provide more information on this process.

In addition to the certificate, you will need to bring two forms of valid signature I.D., the primary of which must have a photograph.
