Alabama Life And Health Licensing Requirements

Alabama Life And Health Pre-Licensing Requirements For Resident Agents

First, you must complete a state-approved 20-hr pre-licensing course for each line of insurance you wish to become licensed in. You will find each of the courses you need above. Satisfactory completion entails a passing grade of 70 percent or greater on the pre-licensing certification exam.

Once you have completed your course and received your certificate of completion, schedule your exam with the Alabama Department of Insurance by registering at

Your test will be in Birmingham, Mobile, Huntsville, Tuscaloosa, Montgomery or Gadsden. The fee for both the Health and Life Insurance lines is $75. For Life-only or Accident and Health-only, the fee is $50.

Bring a valid government-issued ID and your pre-licensing certificate of completion on the scheduled test date.
