How to Study for the Series 7 Exam

Preparation for the Series 7 exam requires many study hours. It's crucial to establish a strong study routine to increase your chances of passing the exam. Below we've compiled a list of tips and tricks to increase your chances of earning a passing grade:
  • Take short, 10-minute breaks throughout the day to give your brain a chance to process all the information you're feeding it
  • Stay attached to your textbooks every day. It's essential to get into a consistent study routine daily
  • Staying focused is critical. If you're struggling with a math question, try drawing diagrams. If you're stuck on a multi-part question, separate it into smaller segments and tackle one section at a time
  • Set aside a few minutes daily to review old information before jumping into new content
  • Use flashcards as study aids and follow a Series 7 study guide
  • Try recording yourself reading your notes for the day and play the tape at night while you're falling asleep
  • Take several practice exams before sitting down for the Series 7 exam. You should be consistently scoring around 80% on the practice exams to ensure you're ready
No matter your learning style, it can be helpful to use a textbook as your primary or guiding source of information.
